Reebok has traditionally released Allen Iverson’s signature shoe, the Answer, every February. However, with Iverson’s shaky health, uncertainty pertaining to next season, and rumors of retirement, Reebok has significantly moved forward the release date of the 13th edition of his signature shoe to August of 2009. The Answer XIII is available now at select retailers for the price of $100.00 USD.

Allen Iverson ended the regular season on the bench, injured. If the veteran guard is revitalized by the time the ‘09-10 NBA Season tips off, he’ll be wearing his 13th signature shoe, the Reebok Answer XIII (13). NYC boutique Orchard Street collaborated with the Vector for the second year straight, and freaked the shoe in a unique metallic fashion. The store’s logo is burned onto the tongue and the red/blue accents draw on A.I.’s Pistons get-up. Little is known about the shoe technologically speaking, but we’ll update when we learn more! Veteran guard Allen Iverson was shipped to Detroit by way of Denver in a shocking trade that flip-flopped the aforementioned A.I., Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and a couple of young rookies as teams from opposite conferences jockeyed for year-end playoff positioning. Earlier today, we featured the Reebok Answer XII Blue/Red/White “Pistons” color scheme, and last week, we explained Allen Iverson’s corrlelation with the British poem Invictus. Reebok is celebrating AI’s time in the Rockies with this buttery smooth black/powder blue/yellow “Nuggets” color scheme of the XII. Expect this joint to hit retailers during NBA All-Star Weekend. Scheduled to release during the NBA All-Star Weekend extravaganza in February, the Reebok Answer XII is the latest installment in Allen Iverson’s signature series. The Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons inspired color schemes are complimented by an elegant TPU heel graphic plate that features British poet William Ernest Henley’s poem Invictus. Diminutive floor leader and Reebok frontman Allen Iverson has worn a white/blue color way of his latest signature shoe, the Answer XII, over the course of the past week. Specifically, he debuted the model on November 19, 2008 against LeBron and the Cleveland Cavs. From the images, it appears as if the outsole of the XII incorporates some sort of midfoot stability element, presumably to mitigate the negative impact of lateral forces. Up top, the shoe’s toecap is inspired by the iconic Question Mid. When technical info becomes available to us, we’ll be sure to update! Last night Detroit guard Allen Iverson debuted the Answer XII, the newest model from his long-running signature line with Reebok on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers. Toned in a simple white/red color scheme, the shoe features a prominent, Question-inspired suede toebox and translucent add-on that is carefully affixed to the forefoot and extends along the outsole. (I’m sorry, I feel like a chump for knowing next to nothing about the shoe technically–look for updates soon!) The good folks at Reebok let us know that the shoe is slated for a February release sometime around All-Star Weekend,(this is tenative; I’ve heard reports of a January drop) so be sure to check out the brand’s inventive Omni Hexride in the meantime!

It was the trade of all trades. Legendary Philadelphia 76ers point guard Allen Iverson was being shipped to the Denver Nuggets, further enchancing the talent-rich Western Conference. Secondly, there were hopes that the brazen, yet veteran guard would provide the leadership and skills necessary to make the hopeful Nuggets a title contender. The stars never aligned for the Nuggs, as they made a series of early exits in the playoffs, but at least the lightning-quick Iverson was doing it in style. Reebok blessed the Answer with an exclusive pair of his tenth signature shoe, the Answer X in a beautiful white/powder yellow/sky blue color scheme. The X was a beautifully sculpted piece of kit, as it incorporated an exaggerated CMEVA midsole, half-zipper/half tradional lace closure system, and podular outsole to impart an organic feel on-court.
