On Court: 2009 NBA Finals Game 2

Game 1 of the 2009 NBA Finals was quite anticlimactic with the Los Angeles Lakers winning by 25 points; however, Game 2 proved to be a completely different story. The Orlando Magic rookie, Courtney Lee, missed an alley-oop attempt with 0.6 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime. There, Kobe Bryant and company took over, and ended up winning Game 2 with a final score of 101-96. Though the game progressed at a relatively slow speed, it was nonetheless a great show of basketball talent and fancy footwear. Some of the sneakers on show in Game 2 included the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4), adidas TS Lightspeed, Nike Hyperdunk, Nike Foamposite Lite, adidas TS Commander LT, Nike Huarache ‘09, and the adidas Fly By. Jordan Player Exclusive (PE) Joe Johnson - Air Jordan Element

We recently viewed Ray Allen’s own PE Air Jordan Element, and now we have a look at Joe Johnson’s. The shoes feature an all white upper, toebox, and a red trim placement that’s very reminiscent of the Air Jordan XI (11). The Air Jordan Element is a very clean model from Jordan Brand, and they can’t go wrong by having two of their biggest stars promoting the model. You can only expect more PE colorways to pop up as the 2009 NBA Playoffs move further.

Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) - ASG '09 - Ray Allen Player Exclusive (PE)

With the Air Jordan 2009 S23 releasing a little while ago, we are now getting a first look at an Air Jordan 2009 made exclusively for Ray Allen to rock while he participates in the NBA 2009 All-Star Game. This is the first AJ 2K9 to feature an upper composed of more than two colors and it looks quite promising that future colorways will definitely make some sneakerheads change their opinions of this model. Yielding a predominately white leather upper with navy blue satin and a university blue trim, this pair nicely matches with the jerseys of the Eastern Conference NBA All-Stars. As it is with all current colorways of the Air Jordan 2009, this pair comes with a blown-glass midsole which gives the sneaker a very clean and unique look. There is currently no information indicating that this pair will be made available to the public, but stay tuned for updates.

Air Jordan I (1) Low Phat - White / Varsity Red - Black

Earlier this month, we showcased the Air Jordan “Trailblazers” Theme Releases which was a pack composed of three sneakers inspired by the Portland Trailblazers. The aforementioned preview only included a small depiction of what the sneakers looked like and now we are getting a detailed look at what one of the Air Jordan I (1) Low Phat’s will yield. Featuring a white upper accented by a black swoosh and a varsity red midsole, this pair has one of the cleanest colorways of the AJ 1 Low Phat we have to seen up to now. To further that cleanliness, Jordan Brand has added a clear, icey sole on this pair to give it an added touch. This pair is set to release on February 14, 2009 for a retail price of $95. Via SC.

Nike Huarache '09 - All-Star Game - East

The Nike Huarache ‘09 is slowly and steadily emerging as one of the top sneakers sported by Nike athletes. The NBA All-Star game is coming up soon and Nike has created a colorway of the Huarache ‘09 for the special occasion. Featuring a navy blue and university blue upper, this pair goes well with the Eastern Conference All-Stars’ jerseys. To finish off the look, Nike has included the word “EAST” on the ankle support to solidify any doubt of what occasion the sneaker is made for. The white laces, midsole, and swoosh contrast nicely with the predominately blue upper. There is no word if these will hit retailers or not, but stay tuned for updates. Via NT.
