Yesterday marked the official release date of the black/sport red-gold Nike Air Max Lebron VIII and we brought you release information of the Nike Zoom Kobe V “Ring Ceremony.” Coincidentally, last night was also opening night for the NBA. If you watched, you were treated to two pretty close games between the Heat/Celtics and Rockets/Lakers. But sneakerheads probably also caught glimpses of what Lebron James and Kobe Bryant each had on their feet while going to work (31 points and 27 points, respectively). Tonight the 2010-11 NBA season will kick off, Kobe and the defending champs, the Los Angles Lakers will face off with the Orlando Magics. Weather or not Kobe wins ring number six, there still yet to be a ring ceremony for his fifth ring, which is also tonight. To go along with the ceremony, Nike designed a ’Ring Ceremony’ edition of the Nike Zoom Kobe V. The Nike Zoom V ‘Ring Ceremony features an all purple upper with a gold appearing on the swoosh as well as around the toe area. These will be hitting select Nike Basketball retailers tomorrow.

This coming Saturday, Nike will release a special edition Nike Zoom Kobe V in memory of the late Kay Yow and in support of breast cancer awareness. But before Saturday even gets here, Nike is already unveiling another colorway of this popular Kobe Bryant signature basketball silhouette. In the month of November, the ink/metallic silver-black Nike Zoom Kobe V pictured here will release from participating Nike retailers. Another crisp colorway with such touches as metallic silver on the patented Nike swoosh could make this the last Nike Zoom Kobe V must-cop of 2010.

This passed Saturday, many of you might have been present at one of several House of Hoops locations nationwide when those Nike retailers began selling the latest player exclusives to release of the Nike Zoom Kobe V and Lebron Soldier IV. This coming Saturday September 18, another pair of special edition Nike Zoom Kobe Vs and Lebron Soldier IVs will see the light of sale. Pink and white pairs of each signature Nike basketball sneaker were designed in honor of the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund, with October- national breast cancer awareness month- being just around the corner. Taking a look also at the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund logo on the heel of each shoe, let us know which overall design you would say tickles your fancy the most.

Right at the end of August we informed you that among some Nike Zoom Kobe V team Player Exclusives to be made available from certain online retailers was the Lower Merion’s version. Now we’d like to inform you that both that very Lower Merion Nike Zoom Kobe V and the Christ the King Nike Zoom Lebron Soldier IV will be made available for purhcase in-store later this week. This Saturday September 11th, House of Hoops locations nationwide will be making both PEs available for purchase. Needless to say, these will come out in limited quantities, so decide now if you’re in it to win it or will let these pass you by.

Two new colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe V have surfaced, one in a Lower Merion coloway and the other one in a Rice colorway. Both pairs of the Nike Zoom Kobe V are done in a home colorway for each school. The ‘Lower Merion’ pair features an all White upper with some Burgundy on the swoosh and shield on the tongue, and the Lower Merion Aces logo can be found on the heel of the shoe. The ‘Rice’ pairs also features an all White upper with some Yellow on the swoosh and shield, and the word “Rice” appears on the shoes heel.
