Asics is known for its classic runner silhouettes, and respected to this day for their modern makeovers that are given to their models. The only difference is one has a white leather and mesh base upper while the other follows in black. Asics keeps it fresh with a zesty twist for its GT-II model. The Asics GT-II comes in a kiwi fruit colorway, to keep the silhouette ever so packed with new ideas. The shoe consists of a white leather upper with mesh panels on the toebox, tongue, and side panel. Red contrast stitching is placed on the side panel as well, along with kiwi accents on the heel above the black midsole and white outsole. To match the theme, the laces have been given a kiwi vibe, making them look as if they were planted with kiwi seeds. These kiwis will be in season for your pleasure come December 2009.

Asics just keeps coming with new colorways and ideas for its runner models. This time, the Asics GT-II is featured in a patriotic colorway, known as the Yankee Doodle. This white mesh upper is contrasted by navy leather and mesh materials, as well as red accents on the heel and outsole. “GEL” is printed on the white midsole to match the red Asics logo on the back ankle. Although Independence Day was a while ago, it’s never too late to act patriotic, especially when it comes out in October.

After the Colette x La MJC x Asics Gel Lyte III surfaced the internet, an Asics GT II soon followed with contributes coming from the two brands. This GT II uses a combination of light blue, black, white and red for its make up. Light blue is placed on the front and back of the sneaker while red highlights borders the two lines across the sides of the sneaker and can be spotted on the sole and heel tab. A matching scarf has also been created for the release. The Asics GT II will be limited to 100 pairs and 76 pairs will be available at Colette, 12 pairs at Patta and 12 pairs at Solebox.
