Originally produced in the 1970s in Germany as a lightweight training shoe, the Munchen is returning this Spring.

Like the classic OG, the kicks once again sport a premium suede and mesh upper alongside white leather on the three stripes and heel tab. Even better, the shoe will be produced in Germany and wil come with a reproduction of the OG packaging.

There is still no word on an exact drop date, but stay tuned for details.

Dropping later this month is the adidas Consortium Munchen “Made In Germany”.

A reissue of the 1970s original, the kicks are named for the Bavarian capital and are produced in a small factory in Scheinfeld, Germany – just like the OG. Complete with a premium suede and leather upper alongside a reproduction of the original box, this is the kind of retro more companies should be putting out there.

Look for the Munchen to hit select adidas Originals spots like Foot Patrol.

Following the return of the line late last year with the “Tabula Rasa” pack, adidas Consortium is back with a new Spring 2012 release.

Named for the Bavarian capital, the classic Munich is dropping in of its OG colorways. The royal blue suede and mesh upper is accented with white throughout, hitting the laces, branding, insole, and outsole.

Look for this 70′s trainer at your local Consortium retailer later this Spring.

With growing adidas Originals collections like Jeremy Scott and Kazuki, adidas Consortium had begun to slowly lose some of its ground over time. To regain momentum, adidas designer and concept manager Daniel Bauer and Christian Otto got together to develop a new concept for the project.

By adopting the Latin phrase, “Tabula Rasa” (meaning “blank slate”), the team was able to start fresh and bring the new adidas Originals Consortium “Tabula Rasa” Pack to fruition. After digging into the adidas archives and taking inspiration from the pack’s original models, the ZX 500, Decade, BC, Matchplay and Pro Shell would all reemerge and share similar characteristics.

We are pretty sure most of you have already heard the news about the return of Consortium after a brief hiatus from Sneaker Freaker, and here we would like to give everyone a better insight and a closer look at the collection inspired by the Latin term, “Tabula Rasa” (meaning “blank slate”), which also gives Consortium a new beginning and future.

Taking this as the foundation of our return, adidas Originals strips back to basics with a palette of natural white tones finished in premium materials, creating a perfect blank canvas for the new Consortium program. We reached into its archives for classic silhouettes, namely the Pro Shell, Decade, ZX 500, Matchplay and BC, and reissued these in authentic one-to-one interpretations, with the intention of setting the clock back to zero.

Shoes and materials have been kept raw and natural, as authentic and close to their original predecessors as possible.

When adidas Consortium was first introduced back in 2007, it marked one of the first times a sneaker company had made a concerted effort so consistently collaborate with a specific set of parters.  The Consortium series saw collaborations with the likes of UNDFTD, DQM, Solebox, Sneakersnstuff, and many more before the plug was pulled on the project late last year.

Now, after a long hiatus, adidas Consortium is back with the “White Vapour Series”.  The collection makes use of luxurious materials such as pig skin, goat skin, nubuck, and waxed cotton laces.  As a bit of a departure for the series, the kicks will come sans any additional branding and in a whiteout colorway, thus drawing attention to the premium materials and construction of the sneakers.

The five models of the adidas Consortium “White Vapour Series” will drop through select retailers on November 26.

Stockholm-based retailer Sneakersnstuff teams up with adidas to create this special sneaker for the adidas Consortium ‘Your City’ collection.  With models from Los Angeles, Oslo, Berlin, and Boston already released, Sneakersnstuff drew inspiration from their city’s grey Fall sky, incorporating the colors of the Swedish national flag into the model’s Stripes. The sneaker, along with sets of yellow and blue alternate laces, is expected to drop as part of the second round of the ‘Your City’ collection sometime soon.
