The past couple years, the Nike Kobe line up has been taking similar routes as many Nike signatures by offering step downs models or “Team” shoes as some may call it, that still offer performance and quality without the premium price tag. The Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon is one of those shoes.

This upcoming season, as Kobe and the Lakers try and spring back from a Playoff slump in 2011, the Nike Zoom Venomenon II will make an appearance on the shelves in various colorways, along with the Nike Zoom Kobe VII set out for next year.

This model features the more traditional materials in a mesh and leather upper, outrigger on the phylon midsole, and a Zoom Air unit. Not much information is available regarding the NZKV II, but according to the catalog, it seems the Venomenon will be pushed more in the basketball market next year with more colorways. Keep it locked on Sneaker Files for more information on next year’s Kobes.

  1. Kobe line has hit its apex on VI. That's it!… and everything goes downhill. These venomenons and VII have too much angular shapes like Raptor jetfighter. Check out heel outersole of the VII's, it looks like the ugly Soviet train featured in James Bond film 'Goldeneye'.

  2. Overall I find the 2012 releases of Nike (both running and basketball) quite dissappointing. And they have it all wrong with the colorways.
But there is nothing wrong with these. I'd buy them for outdoor use if only I had some game left… The swoosh could be smaller and less prominent, though. It does not go well with the angular lines. But the real dimensions are hard to tell with these wide angle/ phone camera views…
