When Russell Westbrook isn’t playing basketball, he dabbles in the fashion industry. You can see him wearing some wild attire during press conferences or speaking with the media. Recently he confirmed that Jordan Brand would be releasing his first signature shoe which is known as the Jordan Westbrook 0. Since he is a basketball player and all, we expected them to be some high performance on court shoes. Now that a catalog image has surfaced we now know what we are dealing with.
Obviously the Jordan Westbrook 0 will not be a basketball shoe, but in-fact intended for lifestyle wear and we don’t expect Russell to push the limits and lace them up in a game. This could mean a couple things: 1. Another model will be made for Westbrook with a different name, still being his signature shoe. 2. Westbrook is helping Jordan Brand obtain the lifestyle/luxury/casual shoe market with his new model and will wear the latest numbered Air Jordan on court.
Over the course of a year, Jordan Brand has been pumping out more models focusing on lifestyle and even luxury sneakers. We have the Futures which also released in a premium version and the Shine which retails for $400.
According to the catalog scan which clearly shows that this model is the Jordan Westbrook 0 will launch starting in October. In a recent Q&A with WSJ, Russell had said his first signature shoe would release this June, so it is possible that two pairs will release with his name behind them. Retail price will be $175, which is a lot cheaper than the Jordan Shine.
