Italian clothing company Slam Jam, who some of you might remember for their recent Asics x Slam Jam Gel Lyte III, have teamed up with Converse First String for their take on the classic Jack Purcell.

Taking what was originally a badminton shoe in a new direction, the Slam Jam Jack Purcell was influenced by “a nautical summer journey”, according to Luca Benini, founder of Slam Jam. Water-proofing the canvas material synonymous with the classic shoe to add durability around the shores, this low-cut Summer staple would be as perfect for a trip to the beach as a trip on the seas. Adding to the summer theme are the words “Summer Journey”, added to the left and right shoe’s tongue, respectively. A red button closure added to the upper makes the shoe easy to remove while also giving the iconic design a unique Slam Jam twist.

Releasing at Slam Jam and various Converse First String locations across the world, for €110 (about $142 US), the Slam Jam Jack Purcell will be available in unisex sizes 5-13. Will you be picking up these shoes for your summer rotation? More a “Nike Air Lebron Slide ‘South Beach’” type of guy?
