Air Jordan 12 Flu Game May 28 2016

The Air Jordan 12 ‘Flu Game’ is another pair that will return in 2016. As many of you know, 2016 celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Jordan 12 and this is one of a few classic releases set to return.

While each Jordan 12 is unique, the Flu Game edition actually is special and has some added history. Michael Jordan wore this pair during the finals where his team, the Chicago Bulls played against the Utah Jazz. Before the start in game 5 of the series, Jordan came down with flu like symptoms. Even though he was very sick, he still went on to play and scored 38 points. The bulls would go on to win that game 90 to 88.

Air Jordan 12 Flu Game 2016 Details

The Flu Game Air Jordan 12 originally released in 1997. In 2003, the shoes released once again which was the first time this pair retrod. The last release came in 2009 which was on the limited side, but differed from the OG and first retro. This time the shoes had a special insignia by the heel that referenced the game.

For 2016, the Flu Games are said to be remastered, so we hope that the quality stands high compared to these past releases that Jordan Brand has been releasing. Using Black leather on the uppers, Varsity Red is then added through the mudguard that extends to the sole. Each pair will come with original packaging along with a retro card.

  1. If they even think about putting nubuck on these, I hope their grandkids grandkids all burn in hell.

    1. Still a no buy, even with leather uppers. It looks like a cheap knock off imitation. Og look like a boot. Retro look like a elongated smashed down elf version of the OG 12s. Easy pass and for $200 (after tax), they can collect dust.

      1. That price tag does suck. Not a fan of it. Not a fan of any of these retro prices honestly.

  2. They look nothing alike, and the 2016 looks cheaper than the 1997 Originals which used to cost $135. Now they jack up the price to $190 well if you factor in the tax its $200, once again every retro 12 looks off shape. Just look at the overall shape and height of the shoes, the type of leather, the amount of leather cut, the shade of red, the thickness of the laces, even the lizard print looks shape- the 2016 look like elf (cut corners on cost). The ankle collar is probably not going to have the same padding and the shape is also off (it supposed to be V shape not C shape). Even the slit gills doesn’t have that gummy bear type feel. There is no contrast of red near the heel of the shoes where you can see the jumpman tab. The spacing between the lace holes supposed to be closer (another sign they cut corners on cost). The pull tab is smaller than the OGs. They said it supposed to be a remastered version of the Originals, they failed. They are even mocking us with Jordan Brand version of a the Nike box they used to come originally. I will say this, no retro 12 looks anything like the Originals 12. To their credit at least they are more concerned with the jumpman logo stitching more than anything else.

In conclusion, I will pass and hopefully everyone will let them sit on the shelves to collect dust. For $200, I better get OGs. Not some horrible attempt cheap imitation version.

  3. i like the shoe but the xii is too heavy for me since i am a damn midget so i am passing just for fact i can’t really rock em!
