Lacoste-DArblay-STM-01

Lacoste’s latest sneaker, the D’Arblay STM, displays some rather exciting color changing capabilities. Featuring ultraviolet sensitive uppers, the sneaker uses the principles of thermography to transform under UV light, being fitted with a crocodile motif. The spectral technology is also given a nod through the model’s gradient midsole and thermography print insoles. Sneakers this cool are hard to come by, and with this model limited to a release of 100 pairs, you’ll have a tough time getting a set of these guys in your closet. That being said, the colorways dropped today at Harajuku Lacoste, so you better keep your eyes on the bay if you’re really hunting for a pair.

The last we reported on Lacoste, there was much to be excited for thanks to this pair of Indiana High’s. Now, the French brand is coming out with a different type of heat that’s sure to make just as big a splash. Part of it’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection, the Cavaillon UE sports a three velcro strap design applied to a silhouette inspired by a low-top tennis shoe. The shoe seems to be Lacoste’s way of paying tribute to its founder, Rene Lacoste, who himself snagged three French Open championships during his tennis career. A black and a white colorway of these shoes are just now popping up throughout Southeast Asia, so unless you have a means of snagging a pair from out there, the internet or patience might be your next best alternative.

The Lacoste brand released its René model last year in celebration of the iconic brand’s 75th anniversary. This year, Lacoste teamed up with Swedish-based SneakersNStuff and Swedish street culture legend Jonas Wiehager to work on the release of two new René sneakers.

The “quieter” colorway of black, grey, and white was applied to the René that Wiehager designed, which also sports what is being called a “Superdrop” pattern. This pattern draws inspiration from drops of paint that fall from paintbrushes like the ones Wiehager himself used to create the unique art forms that made him popular. The second René was designed by the SneakersNStuff team and consists of multicolored squares that remind us of a celebration- which SneakersNStuff has reason to do as it continues to celebrate its ten-year anniversary. These René models will be limited to 124 pairs each and release in Stockholm, Sweden at the SneakersNStuff store on September 25th. Check out more pix after the jump.
