Towards the end of last month we got a look at a colorway of the Asics Gel Lyte Speed that could very well have fit in with the Livestrong campaign. Today, we get a look at a somewhat “messier” colorway. Pictured here is the Asics Gel Lyte Speed nicknamed the “Tomatoes” pair because of the tomato red accents and speckled sole. Aside from the tomato red, navy and yellow accents also show up on this predominantly white upper. You can pick these up now from participating Asics stockists.

Although black and yellow is often times synonymous with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sneakerheads will also many a time think “Livestrong” when the color combination is introduced to the conversation. However, while the Asics Gel Lyte Speed pictured here has nothing to do with the two aforementioned subjects, it too has gotten black and yellow treatment. The base color for this pair is a black mesh/suede, while grey and white are seen along the upper, and white is used for lining. It has been quite awhile since we last heard any real news from Asics. The last time Asics made rounds through the internet was the highly anticipated limited release of Asics Gel Lyte III “Salmon Toe”. Can’t forget Asics makes other models other than the Gel Lyte III and not every pair is a Ronnie Fieg collaboration. Right now we have the Asics Gel Lyte Speed lineup for the holiday season that ends the 2011 year. Two colorways slated to release are both simple and clean. One Gel Lyte Speed will feature Lime Green, Blue, and White while the other pair will utilize Black, Yellow, Grey, and White. Both pairs are now available to purchase now at Patta.

It’s still wintertime for most of us in the world, so let the winter shoes keep coming! Asics have released the Asics Gel Lyte Speed in a sweet colorway to go along with the winter theme. Black, grey, hot red, and neon green accents take over this shoe, which is comprised of buttery grey suede, black leather and mesh, winterized laces, and glow in the dark neon green paneling. A white/grey speckled midsole gives this Pigeon SB-esque runner. You can expect to see these around now at your local Asics joint.

Asics looks poised to drop some heat for us sneakerheads this holiday season. Most recently, we got a look at an Asics Gel Lyte III in a brown colorway. However, Asics is far from done. We now bring you word of the release of two pairs of the Asics Gel Lyte Speed. The Speed is a more lightweight version of the Asics Gel Lyte III, and was designed specifically with experienced runners in mind. The two pairs pictured here are part of what is being called a “Surface” pack. One pair sports a predominantly grey suede upper meant to represent the road, and it also contains red and white accents meant to make us think of road signs. The second pair sports green to represent grass for those runs that are off the road and moreso on the track. It also contains a mud-splattered sole and pair of shoe laces, while some more brown can be spotted on the ankle lining. This pack has already begun to release from select European retailers, so for stateside fans, we might need to try our luck online unless we can get a hold of an overseas connect. Mita, a Japanese retailer, is no stranger to collaborations- especially with Asics. Less than a year removed from this same pairing’s 2008 campaign for the Gel Lyte III, September 5, 2009 marks the release date of this familiar duo’s latest collaborative work. The Gel-Lyte Speed is set to drop in a colorway inspired by the relaxing feel we all seem to associate with “Tropical” areas. Hitting stores just as summer should be wrapping up, these kicks consist of a predominantly grey base with bright red, pink, blue and yellow accents. Limited to a reported 500 pairs, getting your hands on a pair of these might be as elusive as that tropical vacation I’m sure we could all use. We last saw a clean Asics Gel Lyte Speed Grey Goose version that used a minimum of regular colors. But, this time around, the Asics Gel Lyte Speed has been inspired to follow a condimental colorway. This mustard and ketchup-like red shoe is matched nicely with a black nubuck toe and midsole. The shoe also consists of mesh material and the Gel Lyte Speed name is stamped on the side to make its mark. This will be available in September to satisfy your hungers.
