Asics looks poised to drop some heat for us sneakerheads this holiday season. Most recently, we got a look at an Asics Gel Lyte III in a brown colorway. However, Asics is far from done. We now bring you word of the release of two pairs of the Asics Gel Lyte Speed. The Speed is a more lightweight version of the Asics Gel Lyte III, and was designed specifically with experienced runners in mind. The two pairs pictured here are part of what is being called a “Surface” pack. One pair sports a predominantly grey suede upper meant to represent the road, and it also contains red and white accents meant to make us think of road signs. The second pair sports green to represent grass for those runs that are off the road and moreso on the track. It also contains a mud-splattered sole and pair of shoe laces, while some more brown can be spotted on the ankle lining. This pack has already begun to release from select European retailers, so for stateside fans, we might need to try our luck online unless we can get a hold of an overseas connect. How do you think these two colorways look, and how do you feel about the inspiration from which they draw? Check out more pictures after the jump.
