The Air Jordan 13 Doernbecher has been confirmed to release apart of the Doernbecher Freestyle 2015 Collection.
Doernbecher Air Jordan 13 Designer, Inspiration
For 2015, John Charles (age 11) was picked to design the Air Jordan 13 and was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. As a fan of soccer, his number is used on the 13s as well as a nod to his talent at swallowing seven pills at once and a cartoon kid with a raised brow. On the sockliner is John’s twin brother Jonah, his German shepherd Tegan and an Egyptian pyramid. If he could travel anywhere in the world it would be Egypt. A reference to John’s favorite food, Chicken and Jo-Jos is placed on the lace tips. Flipping the shoe over, the outsole will feature the word ‘Crohn’s’ and with every step he want’s to stomp the disease out. Following are the words ‘Strength’, ‘Courage’ and ‘Fight’ through the sole.
As for colors and material, the DB Air Jordan 13 is different from anything we have seen before. You will notice that a shade of green with patent leather lands on the pods while black with a reptile overlay runs down the tongue, toe box and mid area. Neon green or volt is added on the laces, Jumpman logo and hologram while pink lands on the outsole and liner.
So far the Air Jordan 13 is the only pair we know that is releasing in the 2015 Doernbecher collection that will have a grand unveiling on October 23rd, 2015. A total of six designers have been chosen which are Kian Safholm, Lizzy Olivan, Jacob Burris, Emory Maughan, John Charles and Isaiah Neumayer. It isn’t known at this time which person will design the Jordan 13.
Air Jordan 13 Doernbecher Release Date
A specific release date for the ‘Doernbecher’ Air Jordan 13 will take place on November 21st, 2015 at Nike Store and select stores. Expect this pair to be limited and hard to obtain as pretty much any Jordan with the Doernbecher label has over the years. Retail price has been set at $225. Update: The ‘DB’ Air Jordan 13 will launch at Nike Store and select locations tomorrow, November 21st. Check out the full list of locations above.
Update: This weekend the Air Jordan 13 ‘DB’ will officially debut, however there is one pair that is available early on eBay. This brings us to a full look at the entire shoes and packaging.
Update: The ‘Dorenbecher’ Air Jordan 13 will also be available on the SNKRS App by Nike on November 21st, 2015. This allows for higher chance in purchasing. Take note that all products in the collection will launch through the SNKRS app as well.
Update: The ‘Doernbecher’ Air Jordan 13 won’t be unveiled till October 23rd, however a teaser image has leaked which shows off the sole. As you can see they feature pink along with translucent pods, a soccer ball and inspirational words like ‘Courage’. More than likely we will see the Jordan 13 Doernbecher before the official unveiling so stay tuned.
