We Run Dubai, the first Nike We Run race in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was held on November 23 and united 5,000 runners on the world’s most unique man-made island, The Palm.
Felix Sanchez, London 400-meter hurdle gold medalist, hosted the run and celebrated runners’ achievements.
“It’s been an amazing race, full of excitement, fun and energy. I am so proud of all the runners that came out today on the Palm to join in Nike’s We Run Dubai,” Sanchez sai.
Beginning at sunset, the race route incorporated music zones and amazing views of the Dubai skyline ensuring there was never a dull moment for runners.
In preparation for the race runners joined the Nike+ Run Club, which offered free training sessions with coaching tips, competitive challenges and advice on everything runners need to get them to the finish line.
Once the race was completed runners and supporters were treated to international DJs such as Tensnake and DJ Jeff K, making the Nike We Run Dubai a one-of-a-kind party.
The Nike We Run race series is Nike’s most connected race series yet, integrating innovative Nike+ technology. The race series kicked off on Aug. 26 in Riga, Latvia, and will conclude on Dec. 15 in Santiago, Chile.
