On Saturday, Jordan Brand released the ‘Banned’ Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG which sold-out the same day. Customizer The Shoe Surgeon was able to get his hands on a few pairs to recreate the launch to his liking.
There is a few elements that traditionally lands on the Air Jordan 1 that can be seen on the latest Banned release like the Wings and Nike Swoosh on the sides. What The Shoe Surgeon did was remove the Swoosh on the side as well as the Wings for a smooth canvas. He has also added his branding across the tongue, which means he also removed the Nike Air tag.
While Jordan Brand has released a few Swooshless Jordan 1 models in the past known as No Swoosh, they still had Nike Air branding.
Below you can check out more images of the custom Swooshless Air Jordan 1 Banned by The Shoe Surgeon. Although everything he removed points to the history and the actual brand, what are your thoughts on this custom? To check out more of his work, visit his Instagram by clicking here.
Hand sewing soles on… What I've learned about myself and a craft is you need to learn patience. You have to FOCUS and tackle one task at a time. Shoe making isn't about rushing things. The more you do something the better you become. PRACTICE TEACHES PERFECTION. Don't get down on yourself if it wasn't perfect the first time. It shouldn't be.
