Sneakerpimps Draws 7000 Feet to the Roseland Ballroom in NYC

The premier event of the Sneaker Pimps World Tour was held in Sydney, Australia on January 5th 2002. Tour founder Peter Fahey celebrated his 20th birthday by drawing 300 Sneaker Pimps to his event, and so the cult began…

Big thanks to Steve for covering the event and writing this piece.

After breezing-through 22 countries in 69 months, the native Aussie landed at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom last Friday to stage his 184th show.

A total of 3,429 heads nodded to live music and DJs throughout the night, while checking the exhibited works of featured artists, including Methamphibian, Haze, Dave White, and SBTG among others.

Hip-Hop legends EPMD and Slick Rick lead the crowd though their classics, paving the way for the grand-closing by Nas, who dove into the stands after performing a 45-minute set.

Nas’ Sneaker Pimps performance also played for the birth of new controversy, as he announced during the set that his next album would be titled “Nigga.”

Next, Sneaker Pimps travels to New Zealand with graffiti legend “Futura,” and closes the year with Nike in-toe for a three-stop tour of Canada.

Sneaker Pimps clothing is available at boutiques throughout the world, and online at SneakerPimps.net.

Big thanks to Steve from Shoeyork.com for making this happen.
