Being Kobe Bryant has many unbelievable perks, I don’t need to list them for you just know they are extensive. One such perk is that when you have your own shoe line you are able to come out with your own player exclusive colors whenever you want. Mr. Bryant did this on March 11, 2009 when the Los Angeles Lakers played the Houston Rockets.

The colorway that Kobe came out with for his Nike iD Zoom Kobe IV (4) was black / yellow / purple. The shoes were predominantely black, but were complemented with a purple reptile patent tip and heel and yellow Nike Swoosh, Kobe Logo, collar lining, and laces.

Of particular interest of these shoes is the name that shows up on the side of the shoes, “Valenti.” Well in acutally it is not a name its actually an Italian word that means “skillful.” Why Italian? Well if you recall Kobe grew up for some years in Italy due to his father playing there. More pics after the jump.

  1. WELL, I GUESS BEING KOBE MEANS YOU CAN HAVE ANY COLOR WAYS MADE FOR YOU… I ONLY WISH THE GOOD FOLKS AT NIKE WOULD BE MORE CONSIDERATE TO THE REST OF THE FANS OUT IN NEW JERSEY… GOING TO HOUSE OF HOOPS IN HARLEM IS A PAIN IN THE ASS… THEN AGAIN, THOSE SPECIAL MAKE-UP WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE RELEASE TO THE PUBLIC… IT'S JUST SAD IF YOU'RE A KOBE FAN LIKE MYSELF.
