Nike Basketball will re-release various silhouettes from Kobe Bryant’s signature line in 2024, and for the first time, we will see a Protro version of the Kobe 9 Elite. So far, there are three pairs of the Kobe 9 returning, but the more unique iteration of the shoe is the Elite rendition. Following the news of the Kobe 9 Elite Protro “Halo” and its EM counterpart, we can confirm that the “Christmas” Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro will return for the 2024 Holiday season.
The “Christmas” Kobe 9 Elite was originally released on December 26, 2014, just a day after Christmas. Although Kobe Bryant didn’t play on Christmas Day in 2014, several Lakers players were spotted wearing the shoes against the Chicago Bulls. Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of its debut, the shoes will return in 2024.
This Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro comes dressed in a Bright Crimson, Black, and White color combination. The 2024 iteration will mimic the 2014 release, with its unique Red and White pattern throughout. Utilizing White on the base, with Red Flyknit on the overlays. In addition to the Lunarlon midsole, we have a carbon fiber heel counter for support. Kobe’s shield logo adorns the tongues, while the stitches on the back represent Bryant’s torn Achilles, and its sutures are done in Green. Lastly, a mixture of Red, White, Black, and a little Green adorn the midsole and rubber outsole.
