As you may know, Sneaker Files has been bringing you an up close in full detail look of the sneaker culture in Chicago and stores including St.Alfred, A.Okay, Solemates and many more.
Now, The sneaker culture has reached more than within its city limits. About 40 Minutes North in the suburb of Gurnee, IL, The sneaker culture shows its accomplishments by reaching towards the suburban area with a new store that opened up January 1st 2007 called Beau monde also known as a Beautiful World that is owned by Aaron, A sneaker and urban fashion connoisseur that’s ready to put the culture on lock in the burbs. The store brings out what many suburban cats haven’t seen and that could only be seen in Chicago or any major city. Beau Monde provides the sneaker culture feel with an innovative perspective that includes Kicks, Fashion, and Hip Hop.

The party jump off included, 2008 Reebok product samples, giveaways, raffles, local brands such as speak easy monkey business and open mic sessions.
I spoke with Aaron, Owner of Beau Monde.
What is Beau Monde?
“Beau Monde stands for beautiful world and what we are trying to do is break out of a market in the city where stores are popping up more and more it seems and just expand and spread the culture as well as keeping it underground and fresh instead of a over saturated mall type clothing that is mainstream”

“We carry pretty much every major shoe and brands such as Monkey Buziness Décor, Rogue Status, Crooks and Castles and tons more as well as New Era X Beau Monde Collabo Anniversary hat with different color ways and we’ll be definitely changing our brands in and out with something new”
Turnout
“The turn out was great. We had about 50-60 people waiting outside and it did better than expected. Apparently, Monkey Buziness Décorflipped a lot of their stuff and it was double the turn out than the first time”

Beau Monde is what this culture is about. You can always find something unique that catches your eye, and Aaron is very knowledgeable about the shoe game. I have stopped shopping in the city, and spend my money at home where it counts! Anything I have gotten at Beau Monde I have people stopping me and saying "where'd you cop that"? I buy my shoes online cuz I use 2 stay dere and stopped by beau monde but prices is way 2 high and he didn’t have any shoes in anything bigger than a 10.5… if u wear a big shoe don’t bother hittin it up but if u got a lil foot stop by I guess

Aaron has brought culture to the burbs' something that hasent been done in this area. Beau Monde is Providing elite fashion with a round the way feel making its brand, new to alot of people in the area. Also since i've been there and watched Aaron provide an outlet for other designers i.e. MBDecor.
History is being made in my backyard and Im pleased.
