While Jordan Brand is currently celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 6, the releases will continue in 2027. As we look ahead, the brand will bring back the “Sport Blue” Air Jordan 6, a pair that has been requested for years.
While some refer to the pair as “September Blue,” the official shade is “Sport Blue.”
The “Sport Blue” was one of five original Air Jordan 6 colorways introduced in 1991. While several of the other OG pairs have received multiple retro releases, this colorway has received the same amount of love. The 2014 version marked its first return after 23 years. However, it came with a Jumpman. The 2027 release will feature Nike Air.
The Air Jordan 6 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally released in 1991. The model took inspiration from Michael Jordan’s German sports car, which helped shape its streamlined appearance.
The color blocking on this Air Jordan 6 keeps things simple. White leather covers most of the upper, while Black appears on the tongue, heel, and other smaller areas. Sport Blue is used on the Jumpman branding, parts of the midsole, and the outsole. An icy translucent outsole finishes the look. The pair also came with blue lace locks that helped complete the design.
As for the 2027 release, you can expect the shape to be updated to reflect the original mold. It will also feature Nike Air for the first time since its original 1991 release.
