A Look Back: OG Air Jordan IX (9) "Powder Blue"
Often times, sneakerheads will come to terms with the probability that a favorite sneaker isn’t going to be retroed; and, the only thing we can do is remember how great a pair of sneakers looked. For many of us, that is true about the Air Jordan V “Laney,” which we took a look at some months back. Today, we get a look at this collection of images of the OG Air Jordan IX “Powder Blue-” which many initially thought to be set for retro treatment last year, until we saw production images of said Air Jordan retro IX in a lighter shade of blue. But these bad boys are from the original release date back in 1994 and remains an OG colorway yet to be retroed- would you want them to be retroed, or did last year’s “University Blue” pair do just fine?

  1. I had these in '94 and in a sneaker purge I donated them to Goodwill in about '96.
What the fuck was I thinking?!?

    1. I TOTALLY AGREE. These are NOT OG's because these were the only pair that didnt rock a 23 on the back!!!

  2. I have a pair of these original iX Jordans with the 23 on the back and a 93 tag on the inside. I have been in contact with Nike archives as well as Steve Jaconetta of Soul Collector. I have not been able to find another pair of OG 93 iX Jordan’s in this color way with the 23. Any information on these would be helpful. Please email me for pictures. Thank you.
