In honor of their upcoming Freedom Trail Collection, Cambridge-based sneakershop, Concepts, and New Balance held a launch party in Boston this past Thursday. With over three hundred guests in attendance, the New Balance 1500 model and first-ever New Balance 875 boot model included in the collaboration are certainly something worth celebrating. Both shoes have been fitted with a chocolate/white/red colorway, featuring full grain leather uppers and pigskin leather lining. Dedicated to Boston’s Freedom Trail, the collection is scheduled to hit Concepts and other select sneaker boutiques in limited quantities on Black Friday, November 27th. First previewed back in June, we now have some more detailed information about the New Balanace 1500 ‘Limited Edition’ Pack. With models starting to pop up overseas months ago, we were unsure if the three-tone sneakers would make their way to North America. Thanks to Oshman’s and mita Sneakers’ help, the New Balance team came up with a pair of 1500’s in grey/white-blue done up in mesh and suede materials. Another pair of New Balance 1500’s has just popped up- this time with a predominantly white upper and very light tan accents around the shoe’s toe box and heel. As the title states, this New Balance 1500 pair will only release in limited amounts- with certain online and in-store New Balance retailers already beginning to have these ready for sale.

Judging by recent news of a collaboration with SneakersNStuff, it should come as no surprise that New Balance is at it again. This time, New Balance has teamed up with the crew over at Concepts store in Boston, Mass. The result was a hybrid of the New Balance 1500 and 875, which has been dubbed the “Freedom Trail” collection, after the two-and-a-half mile red brick path that not only paves the way for Boston tourists but also played a pivotal role in the American Revolution. The shoe itself comes in a chocolate-colored combination of suede and leather, red accents including shoe laces, and an off-white midsole. The beloved 1500 model of New Balance keeps getting more love. The New Balance 1500 Limited edition comes in a khaki colorway. The shoe is handmade in England, and consists of brown premium leather and nubuck. The light tone of the midsole contrasts nicely with the dark upper, and “Limited Edition” is stitched on the tongue to let it be known. This pair of shoes is available now for $180.

What we’ve come to expect from New Balance over the years is, well, the expected; there’s no doubt that their footwear has retained a remarkably a consistent look for a long time. However predictable, New Balance’s upcoming line for the Fall/Winter of 2009 contains some interesting new materials and colorways for the brand. The 1500’s seem to be catching a lot of attention, from a simple white and tan colorway to a neon yellow, black, white, and gray. Also keep and eye out for a more limited 574 pictured here, an interesting remix on the NB classic, featuring a metallic silver heel and accents. All together, New Balance is making an effort to remain contemporary without straying too far from their proven formula.

Just a few days ago we reported another 1500 project involving Solebox and New Balance. However, the picture above provides a better look at the 1500s that we only had a few preview shots of before. As we noted before, the sneakers consists of a black and grey upper along with white mid-sole and gum colored sole, but the subtle hints of light aqua that add a nice touch to the simple color-way.
