Converse and Utah Jazz Small Forward Kyle Korver have just announced the MyChucks contest, which gives participants the chance to design a Chuck Taylor All Star and win the grand prize of having their personalized Converse All Star exclusively sold by Eastbay. The MyChucks contests is a great way for contestants to demonstrate their talents and skill by applying to Converse’s All Star.

Furthermore, Kyle Korver designed his very own All Star that is currently on the MyChucks web site and there is also a video to accompany the shoe. His All Star features various items that are significant to Korver and his life. In addition, Converse will only produce 226 pairs of the shoe, referring to Korver’s jersey number 26. The proceeds will be donated to the Kyle Korver Foundation. You can enter the contest now by browsing over to mychucks.eastbay.com, where a download kit may be retrieved along with contest instructions. However, designers must submit a scanned image of their design and a 20-30 second video that explains their All Star.

The All Stars will be hosted on the website and votes will be tallied to see which is the most popular. The top five designs that recieve the most votes will go through a final round of judging and will be judged on artistic ability, creative expression and overall design. Converse and Eastbay will announce the Grand Prize winner on July 11th, 2008 on mychucks.eastbay.com. The Grand Prizer winner will be flown to the Converse headquarters, where he/she will work with designers and others to re-create their shoe. The final version of the shoe will then be produced and sold on Eastbay.com in January 2009.

United Arrows, a large Japanese retailer, has came together again with Converse to produce three Weapon Highs. Using a nostalgia look by implementing a discolored outsole while three old school basic colors are used.

The Converse Weapon High x United Arrows will release in a White / Black, White / Navy, and Grey / White color scheme. The final touch to the pack is the premium leathers used throughout each shoe. Coming soon to United Arrows.

Converse has been serving up some great creations this year including a few major collaborations. Here’s a look at two samples that are releasing this Fall. First up is the Converse All Star Low which appears in purple leather along with a blue logo on the side.

Secondly, is the Converse re-issue quick Start Samples 08 that sports a similar design. LIke the All Star Low, it also features a purple and blue color-way that is applied to the leather upper and a yellow sole. A big thank you to Steve of Denim and Sole for the heads up!

Converse has really been on top of things and has given us a lot to look forward to for their 100th anniversary. One of the latest models being released for the anniversary is the Sea Star OX which has appeared online in two different color-ways, Navy and White.

The Sea Star OX features a simple boat shoe shape and is composed of a canvas material. Many companies have used the boat shoe shape, but these not particularly nice. Both of the models will be available soon at Converse retailers and is available now via eBay.

Converse continues to celebrate their 100th anniversary with this collaboration with Pepsi on a series of cell phone key chain modeled after the Jack Purcell, Chuck All Star, Larry Bird’s and 9 other models.

Each shoe features a great amount of detail, from the print on the heel to the laces, everything is exact. These will phone key chains are a great accessory for any cell phone. Via Ken Lu.

Converse continues to stir things up with the recent collaboration with online retailer Beams, to work on the All Star Hi. The collaboration consists of Black and White All Star Hi’s, both feature full patent leather uppers. A great collaboration between the two companies, look out of for Converse to keep making news. Converse has given us a lot to look forward to with a great amount of hot models and adds this 100th Anniversary Jack Purcell to the list. Fragment Design has been very active lately with having collaborated with some of the major sneaker companies including Converse. Converse and Fragment Design teamed up to release a special Chuck Taylor Low which features a solid Red upper, Red toe cap and White mid-sole. In addition, the Fragment Design logo is embroidered at the back of the shoe. The Converse x Fragment Design Chuck Taylor Low is now available at SlamJam.

Earlier this month, the Undefeated x Converse x Bearbrick collaboration set was previewed and only displayed the two Bearbricks alongside the Chuck Taylor High. Here’s a better look at the upcoming joint effort which consists of the 100% and 400% Bearbricks being accompanied by a matching t-shirt. The No Raw Dogs Group will be released on April 5th at all Undefeated US stores and online.

John Varvatos is at it again with Converse to release a Spring - Summer 2008 collection. The model used in this preview is the Converse Jack Purcell. As you can see, the new collection contains plain colors, which is not a bad thing, and one pair with a distinctive pattern. Available now at Hanon.
