Vault by Vans and Engineered Garments come together this fall to craft a special footwear collection for Nepenthes. The Engineered Garments design team approached the project with a subtle-yet-refined approach as two of Vans’ most iconic styles, the OG Authentic LX and OG Classic Slip-On LX, are carefully detailed with a palette of premium materials.
The aesthetic of the OG Authentic LX is revisited with a focus on quality fabrics. Engineered Garments’ staple textiles, Reversed Olive Sateen and Sunforger Cotton Canvas, cover Vans’ low-top, lace-up for a duo of deluxe colorways. The OG Classic Slip-On LX is presented in black, navy and tan iterations which embrace the “positive-negative” concept that has intrigued Engineered Garments designer Daiki Suzuki for decades. Suzuki first came across mismatched sneaker fashion in the skateboard magazines of the ‘70s; he pays tribute to the era by alternating smooth leather surfaces and unfinished hide materials across the assortment.
The Vault by Vans x Engineered Garments collection launches this Tuesday, September 10, at Nepenthes New York. Come join Vans as we celebrate this collaboration and unveil Nepenthes’ Vault by Vans Pop-Up Shop with an opening reception featuring art installations by Shin Murayama, free drinks and DJ sets from 7 to 9pm. Nepenthes New York is located at 307 West 38th Street in New York City.
