Although Nike Basketball has yet to officially unveil the upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VIII, today brings another detailed look at the Black/Maize edition of the Black Mamba’s latest signature sneaker.

While full tech specs remain unknown, it appears that Kobe’s new kicks will once again feature Zoom cushioning and a low-top, low-profile look with an external heel counter and lightweight Engineered Mesh upper providing a flexible, lockdown fit. With the recent push in new technologies like Dynamic Flywire and Hyperfuse, its interested to see the Kobe line go in a different direction.

Stay tuned for an official unveiling and expect the Kobe VIII to debut at retail in late 2012/early 2013.
