Manny Pacquiao has been a long time member of Nike who has had a few special sneaker releases and even attire. Recently the boxing superstar made some anti-gay comments that didn’t many did not find appropriate which includes his sponsor Nike.
Nike who also supports the LGBT community and has a collection that releases once a year went and terminated Manny Pacquiao’s contract.
Nike recently made a statement about terminating his contract: “We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent. Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.” “We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao.”
