Nike SB Dunk High Elite ‘Royal’ Takes Inspiration from the Air Jordan 1

Nike SB Dunk High Elite Royal Release Date

Introducing the Nike SB Dunk High Elite, an all new Nike SB Dunk. The model combines the Nike SB Dunk Low Elite with the Nike SB Koston 3. Designed by Nike SB Team rider Kevin Terpening, he used the Air Jordan 1 for inspiration.

The silhouette, however, maintains the soul of the classic SB Dunk. Thanks to its second-skin feel, the collar also serves a very specific performance benefit: “It creates a solid connection from your ankle to your foot,” explains Terpening. “I’m more aware of the way my foot and board work together.”

The knit jacquard material on the toe box offers similar advantages. It’s super thin and has very few seams, yet provides support and a locked-in fit. “I feel more stable, and that my feet are more engaged than they otherwise would be,” says Terpening. Like the Nike SB Dunk Low Elite, its high-top counterpart features a larger Zoom Air bag in the midsole to give riders maximum impact absorption.
