Nike Basketball will celebrate the Year of the Horse (YOTH) in 2026 with some special releases. One of those will revisit a popular Kobe release, the Kobe 8 Protro. Dropping in the Spring, we have the “Year of the Horse” iteration, which initially dropped in 2014.
This Nike Kobe 8 Protro is dressed in a Light Crimson, Bright Citron, and Vivid Blue color scheme, just like the original release. The shoes feature a Red engineered mesh upper covered in a unique graphic. In addition, Yellow lands on the Swoosh logos, laces, and Kobe Bryant’s signature on the heel counter. The Red and Yellow are linked to good luck. Adding pop, Vivid Blue graces the liner, speckled across the laces, and covers the translucent rubber outsole. Lastly, a horse emblem lands on the inside of the tongue.
