One of the most sought-after series from the Kobe line is the Mambacurial, which expanded across several models. However, the first and most loved is the Kobe 8. For fans who missed out on the 2013 release, the pair will return in Fall 2026 in Protro form. Highlighted in a vibrant color palette, this pair connects to the Mercurial Vapor football boots and also represents Kobe Bryant’s love for soccer.
Like the original Nike Kobe 8 that was released, the 2026 iteration will feature bright colors, consisting of Red Plum, Electric Green, and Pink Flash. The upper features a vibrant Pink that gradients to Purple towards the heel. The large Green Swoosh starts at the toe and extends to the middle of the lateral panel. On the medial side, we have “NIKE” displayed in White, while the heel counter has a translucent finish. The signature Kobe shield logo adorns the tongues, with “KB24” below, and the laces and part of the midsole are covered in Black. Completing the look, we have a Green translucent rubber outsole with grass underneath.

The “Mambacurial” series has always been my favorite from the Kobe line. I do own the original pair, which, in my opinion, was a must-pick-up. Although I am excited about the return, I will probably pass on this pair since I already own the OG. But it’s perfect timing for a return, as the FIFA World Cup will be in 2026, and this pair is inspired by soccer.
