On January 26, 1997, Super Bowl XXXI took place, and the New England Patriots took on the Green Bay Packers. The Packers won 35 to 21. During the Super Bowl, what most people enjoy are the commercials. This is where Nike, Penny Hardaway, and Lil Penny come into play. A commercial was aired known as “Lil Penny’s Super Bowl Party,” where celebrities and athletes turned out. The commercial will inspire this Air Max Penny 1, known as “Penny Story.”
Sporting a White, Light Lemon Twist, Field Purple, and Anthracite color combination. This Nike Air Max Penny 1 features White leather on the base with Light Lemon Twist and Field Purple accents, reminiscent of the Super Bowl ad. The shades are used on the tongue, pull tabs, pipping, Swoosh logos, liner, 1 Cent logo, and within the visible Air Max unit. Other details include Anthracite on the midsole and outsole with a large Swoosh dipped in Lemon Twist.
