First released in 1996, the Air Max NM, also known as the Air Max Nomo, was inspired by Nomoโs impact on baseball. The model stood out for its unique upper and design details, setting it apart from traditional trainers. Now, Nike will bring the โVarsity Redโ colorway back for another run. Fun fact: โNMโ stands for โNomo Max,โ and the Varsity Red colorway was released in 2011.
This Nike Air Max NM will feature the familiar Varsity Red, Black, White, and Varsity Maize color scheme. Previous versions featured red nubuck across the upper, Black mesh panels with the modelโs signature shark-tooth design, and White Swoosh logos on the sides. Yellow accents around the Air unit added contrast, while the combination of Red and Black gave the shoe its distinctive look. The signature baseball and Swoosh branding on the tongue will return, and a baseball on the window of the outsole. The look is completed with a jewel-like Swoosh.
