Since the Air Max 1 debuted in 1987 with visible Air cushioning, the franchise has expanded into one of the company’s most recognizable product lines. For 2027, rather than simply bringing back original colorways, Nike is exploring an alternate timeline with the “Lost Samples” Pack. The concept imagines what could have happened if early sample pairs had made it beyond the design room.
The collection includes three legendary silhouettes. The Nike Air Max 1 takes inspiration from the original “Sport Red” release but swaps in blue accents on the tongue, upper eyelets, and outsole, creating a subtle twist on one of Tinker Hatfield’s most celebrated designs.
The Nike Air Max 90 revisits the iconic “Infrared” colorway with intentionally aged details, including scuffed mudguards, yellowed midsoles, and a weathered look reminiscent of a decades-old sample discovered in storage.
Meanwhile, the Nike Air Max 95 starts with the classic “Neon” gradient before introducing black interior details and vibrant orange accents on the lace loops and visible Air units, giving Sergio Lozano’s masterpiece an alternate look without changing its signature profile.
