Many may overlook that the “Varsity Royal” Air Griffey Max 1 is an original colorway launched in 1996. The last time we saw the pair released was in 2021.

This Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is dressed in a Varsity Royal, Black, and Volt color combination. Looking closer, the shoes have Blue nubuck on the upper and mudguard, while White leather lands on the base. In addition, Black detailing covers the tongues, Swoosh logos, pull tabs, and around the Air unit. Within the Air unit is Volt, which also fills the Swooshes throughout. We have Griffey’s number 24 on the strap and Nike across it. Other details include a White midsole and a primarily Black rubber outsole with the signature baseball flame graphic.
