Nike has another Air Force 1 on the way, this time bringing back its signature Safari print. The pattern has appeared on several Nike models over the years, and this release gives the classic basketball shoe a different look. Instead of covering the entire upper, the print is used on select panels.
The Safari pattern first appeared on the Nike Air Safari in 1987. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the print was inspired by an ostrich-leather couch he saw in a New York furniture store. Since then, Nike has used the pattern across multiple silhouettes, including previous Air Force 1 releases.
This Nike Air Force 1 Low features a Desert Khaki base with Safari print covering the front mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlays. The spotted panels feature irregular Black markings on a lighter background, giving the shoe its signature look. Smooth Khaki panels appear on the toe box and sides, while Black covers the Swoosh, laces, and heel tabs.
Nike Air branding appears on the tongue and heel, with matching khaki details around the collar. The Safari pattern also appears on the insoles. Summit White covers the midsole, with black AIR lettering and a thin black stripe around the heel. A Black rubber outsole completes the design.
