NFL Threatens to Eject Marshawn Lynch if he Wears Gold Custom Nike Cleats

The Seattle Seahawks are taking on the Green Bay Packers for the NFC Championship. Marshawn Lynch recently had a custom pair of Nike cleats made for the game but the NFL isn’t allowing Lynch to wear them.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports and tweeted out by Curtis Crabtree:

Jay Glazer reporting on FOX pregame that the NFL threatened to eject Marshawn Lynch for wearing gold cleats today. He’s not wearing them.

We are not 100% sure why the NFL doesn’t want Marshawn Lynch to wear the cleats, maybe due to the colors used and not matching the Seahawks jersey? You might remember that Nike doesn’t want their athletes to wear custom cleats since their branding is covered.

For the Nike cleats which was designed by Solesbysir features 24K gold flake painted on the uppers and is estimated to be worth $1,100, of course that’s what it cost to make them, but not what they are worth. We all know the value of sneakers goes up in 99% of cases.

Lynch decided to wear a pair of more traditional Nike cleats in neon green.
