We saw the New Balance 2002R ‘Refined Future’ collection, also known as the ‘Protection Pack’ in 2021. Releasing in 2022, New Balance will launch more color options.
So far, we have a look at two upcoming New Balance 2002R colorways. One of the pairs features the OG-like ’Steel Blue’ theme that was seen on the 1300. The other pair comes highlighted in ‘Dark Blue.’ Both pairs come with a deconstructed build while constructed with mesh and suede. Lastly, we have a two-tone N-Ergy midsole and a Dark Blue rubber outsole.

Update (9/21): After launching overseas, Extra Butter has announced that they will release the ‘Refined Future’ New Balance 2002R pack on September 29th. They will be available exclusively in-store and online. A wider release will take place soon.
Update (3/11): Retailer Afew has announced that the ‘Refined Future’ aka ‘Protection Pack,’ which the retailer is calling the ‘Pig Suede’ pack, will debut on April 1st. Make sure to check back with us for more updates.
