If you recall back in August we did a story on the Extra Butter x Asics Gel Saga “Cottonmouth“. Well, today we have more pictures of the sneaker. This sneaker pays homage to one of the dangerous female members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad from the Kill Bill films, the beautiful O-Ren Ishii.
The character was played by Lucy Liu and she is one of the not so lucky individuals listed on Beatrix Kidd’s “Death List 5”. That Death List 5 was borrowed by the New York based shop Extra Butter and flipped into a collaboration with Asics. The theme of the collaboration can be tied to the Onitsuka Tiger sneakers worn by Beatrix Kiddo.
Cottonmouth is a blend of purple and white, with a fade effect and speckles on the toe. With a combination of suede, leather and mesh, the runner also features a nice stitched texture on the inner lining, which adds to the look in a shade of pink.
These sneakers are set to release in Europe this Saturday, December 21st, the day after the “California Mountain Snake” hit the shelves. For those who live here in the US, you can purchase these shoes at select online stores like Titolo or through End (this Friday at midnight GMT).
