Extra Butter’s creative directors, Jason Faustino and Bernie Gross, first met over a decade ago not as fellow sneakerheads but through the New York City b-boy scene. Paying tribute to everyone who hustles to make their mark in the hardest city in the world, they will launch the Extra Butter x Puma Clyde ‘Kings of New York’ Pack.
The two Puma Clyde releases utilize an overhaul of crushed velvet, tonal leather form stripe, and veg tan leather heel and tongue. The simplicity of the Cabernet and Peacoat color-ways allow for the meticulous details to really shine- from the signature gold foil branding, to velvet fat laces, perforated leather co-branded insoles, tonal NY monogram pattern on the leather collar lining, to the translucent outsole with asymmetrical “Extra Butter” branding icy bottoms.
“Big City of Dreams” and “Kings of New York” respectively become the spotlight graphics for a lightweight hooded long-sleeve and tee, while the Extra Butter x Secrid card protectors offer clean NYC-inspired line art on laser cut aluminum, individually numbered out of 50 editions with custom packaging.
The Extra Butter x Puma Clyde Kings of New York Pack will release at a launch party/b-boy exhibition battle in NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on July 8th. Extra Butter will announce an in-store and online release later. Only a limited amount of pairs will be available.
