Devin Booker and Nike are teaming up with Chevrolet again after last yearโs Book 1 collection. That project was inspired by Bookerโs classic Chevy Blazers, while the new collection moves over to his Impalas. Each pair represents a different car from his collection, making this more personal than a simple automotive-themed colorway.
The โPretty Pennyโ specifically pays tribute to his 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible. The shoe will also receive an early release in Detroit during the Woodward Dream Cruise.
For the โPretty Pennyโ Nike Book 2, the colors come directly from Bookerโs 1959 Impala convertible, including Sanddrift on the upper. Nike and Chevrolet also worked smaller details into the shoe. The tongue top matches the hood ornament from the car, while the โ59 model year is included on the sneaker. Impala graphics on the heel counter add another connection to the vehicle.
