By now,  most of you have probably heard about Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan XII Retro ‘Rising Sun’ release fiasco. Originally set to hit retailers yesterday, October 24th, JB announced on Friday that they were delaying the launch of the collection – footwear, apparel, and accessories included. Rumour has it that issues with the ‘Rising Sun’ insole are the main reason for delay, but we’ll have to wait and see what changes are made in the new version to be sure. The new scheduled release date for the model is November 21st, leaving those of you who were fortunate enough to grab a pair before the recall with a solid month of exclusive ownership.

Celebrity Sneaker Sightings - Drake's Air Jordan VIII Sugar Ray PE

Celebrities and sneakers always mix, because money and sneakers always mix. That’s why it’s no surprise that Drizzy Drake surfaced a picture of himself for us to envy. The Canadian rapper has got himself a pair of Air Jordan VIII Sugar Ray Player Exclusives. These were very hard to get, as a very limited run was produced. No doubt that Drake dropped a lot of dough to get these, or it could be that his celeb status got him some free heat. Whatever the case, Drake has the Air Jordan VIIIs in the black/stealth-clover colorway, and a piece of Ray Allen history.

LebronVII

Initially, Nike had set an October 24th general release date for the Air Max Lebron VII’s. And while they DID receive a momentary release date change, they are now BACK on the October 24th release schedule. That means that this Saturday- for those of you who haven’t already pre-ordered/purchased early- you can be sure to find these at all House of Hoops locations and FootLockers, as well as other participating Nike retailers.

Interestingly enough, there is also word of a release date change to the pair of “Rising Sun” Air Jordan XII’s also set to release this coming Saturday. A rumored release month change to November would be utterly mind-boggling, considering the fact that many stores have already begun to make these available for pre-order and sale. If any more changes do come, we’ll be sure to report them to you as quickly as possible- we know that funds need to be appropriately allocated and that date changes can make that a bit more difficult.

The House of Hoops phenomenon is hitting not only statewide, but also worldwide. Recently, we brought you word that yet another stateside House of Hoops location was opening up- this time in Houston, Texas. Nike, of course, had a couple of goodies prepared for this event- among which was a pair of Nike Houston Hyperize’s. But, it appears as though the surprises did not end there. During the opening, a pair of Air Jordan I High’s and Air Jordan Fusion IV’s in a white patent leather-red/navy blue colorway were on display. Furthermore, the pairs of shoes also boasted speckled blue midsoles- for added flavor. These have been seen only during the Houston’s House of Hoops’ opening, with no word yet- either positive or negative- on a general release. If any information comes up, rest assured we’ll deliver it to you. For now, enjoy the pix after the jump.
