Nike tapped Los Angeles artist Victor Solomon, best known for his ornate sculptures and work on official NBA trophies, to create a capsule celebrating distinct L.A. neighborhoods and experiences. The Nike Air Foamposite One takes its place in the collection, representing the Westside Beaches, capturing the vibe and movement of sand and surf that define the city’s western shores.
Also part of the collection is the “Downtown Diamond District” Air Max 90 and the “Sunset Strip” Air Force 1.
Rather than drop a random “ASW” label on the upper, the “Westside Beaches” uses Black-on-White linework across the Foamposite shell, reminiscent of waves, grids, and organic flow, almost like a hand-drawn map of the beach meeting the city.
Along with the printed visuals, the pair includes Metallic Gold chain laces and sculptural hardware, giving the Foamposite a jewelry-like feel that matches Solomon’s sculptural background.
