adidas and UnheardOf founder Phil Lipshutz will connect again to release the UnheardOf x adidas Rivalry Low “Grandma’s Couch 2.” This special release will celebrate Mother’s Day and is a tribute to Phil’s grandmother, Naomi Phillips. Furthermore, the shoes mark the final chapter in the “Grandma” Rivalry series.
This adidas Rivalry Lo is 100% about Naomi. It has flowers across the upper handpicked by Naomi, while the heel features the adidas logo in her handwriting. On the inside is a sketch of Naomi’s husband of 75 years, who used to ask for her hand in marriage on the insoles. Phil also added a personalized note in reversed lettering, a nod to how he battled with dyslexia for years.
Each pair comes with special packaging. The flowers are an ode to luxury beauty products that Phil used to gift Naomi. They are watercolor florals painted by her late husband. Lastly, the packaging has Rose Gold accents.
