Paul George had a strong run with Nike Basketball and his signature line, which ended several years ago. However, to many, his first signature shoe, the Nike PG 1, had the most impact. Some, including myself, consider the model the best from his line. After years of rumors, we will see a retro release with the โFlip The Switchโ iteration returning in Fall 2026.
The โFlip The Switchโ PG 1 was initially launched in 2017. Alongside this pair, Nike Basketball launched an entire โFlip the Switchโ collection, inspired by the intensity of the playoffs. Also part of the collection is the Kyrie 3, Kobe A.D., KD 9 Elite, and the LeBron 14.
As you can see, the 2026 iteration of the Nike PG 1 resembles the 2017 release and is highlighted in Black, Deep Royal Blue, Photo Blue, Blue Fury, and Hyper Violet. The standout feature is the Blue midsole, with Purple and Black gradient areas. Purple also appears on the mid-foot strap, with Blue on the Swoosh and tongue branding. As for the base, itโs covered in Black, allowing the other areas to be the focus. Other details include Georgeโs โ13โ on the heels and a Black rubber outsole.

Bottom Line
I have heard rumors of the Nike PG 1 returning for a few years now, and itโs finally happening. The model was popular when it first dropped, and I did make sure to grab a pair. However, I donโt own the โFlip The Switch,โ so this is a potential buy for me. I can see people already excited about the re-launch, and expect more colorways to arrive throughout 2026.
