In 2025, Nike Basketball will ramp up the number of releases from Kobe Bryant’s signature line, and one of the models receiving additional love is the Kobe 9. For the Holiday season, the brand will revisit a classic pair, the “China” Kobe 9 EM, and release the shoes in Protro form. This will mark the first time the pair will return to retailers.

Initially released on August 30, 2014. The inspiration for this pair comes from a trip Kobe Bryant took to China. This Nike Kobe 9 EM features a University Red, Metallic Gold, and Black color scheme. Highlighted with Red engineered mesh on the upper, Metallic Gold adorns the Swoosh logos, his signature by the heel, and speckled across the Red midsole.

This pair is known for the China-inspired artwork across the tongues, mixing shades of Gold, Red, and Orange. We also have intricate embroidery on the heels, accompanied by nine Gold lines. The design is completed with White on the midsole and rubber outsole.
