Nike Basketball will release more Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro colorways in 2025, and one of the upcoming pairs will include the classic “Beethoven” colorway. We saw the Kobe 9 return in 2024 with the release of the “Halo” iteration. However, that was a new colorway. The brand will start bringing back original colorways, including the “Beethoven” iteration first launched in 2014.
Dubbed “Beethoven,” the shoes are inspired by the Black and White keys on a piano. Kobe Bryant admired the pianist and even learned to play “Moonlight Sonata” by ear.
As for the look, this Nike Kobe 9 features a mixture of Black, Grey, and White throughout, giving the shoes a simplistic look. Highlighted with Flyknit on the upper using the aforementioned shades. White fills in the Swoosh logos, tongue, laces, and around the heels. Along with speckled detailing, carbon fiber by the heel helps the support. Other details include Kobe’s signature and shield logo.
Part of the Protro series, the Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven” features a modern upgrade. It comes with Nike React cushioning, and the traction has also been upgraded.
