It’s that time of year when Nike Basketball unveils its latest Christmas collection, and they haven’t disappointed. Adding to the lineup, we have Giannis Antetokounmpo’s latest signature shoe, the Giannis Freak 7. Instead of receiving the “Christmas” nickname, the pair is dubbed “Snowed In.”

What I like about this pair is the colors, which aren’t connected to Christmas. This Nike Giannis Freak 7 is dressed in Court Purple, Hydrangeas, Green Strike, and Bright Crimson. As you can see, the shoes are covered in Purple, with speckled details resembling snowflakes on the mudguard, ankle, and midsole. The tongue also has a snow globe logo, a theme used across all Christmas Nike Basketball releases. Adding pop, both Green Strike and Bright Crimson accent the shoes, landing on the laces and Swoosh. Lastly, we have a partially translucent outsole with a Red-to-Green gradient and more snowflakes.

I think the Giannis Freak 7 is a big update, looks-wise, compared to his previous model. Furthermore, I am a fan of the Christmas iteration. It does have details connecting to the Holiday, but it uses non-traditional colors. Is it enough for me to pick them up? Probably not. However, if I am at my local outlet and catch them for a reasonable price, I might.
