In January of 1967, Johnson opened a running specialty store, Blue Ribbon Sports (Nike’s original name) at 3107 Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, California.
We now have a new Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 that pays tribute to the BRS space, which reopened on January 25th, 20219 as a community space for local runners to gather and talk, just as they did with Johnson in the late ’60s. Highlighted in a Black, Yellow, and White color combination, we also have the ‘BRS’ logo on the lateral heel and branding on the insoles and the left featuring the address of the original location.
