In the end, there were five. That is, there were five characteristics that LeBron James and the creative minds at Nike decided they’d incorporate into the aforementioned ballplayer’s fifth signature ride, the Nike LeBron V (5). Family (White/Navy), Fearless (Black/Crimson), Passion (China Red/White), Vision, and Win were emblazoned on the midfoot support strap of each color-specific model. With those traits in mind, Ken Link crafted the ‘Bron with elegant performance on the brain.
Nike Air Zoom Lebron 5 (V)
The designer of the Nike Air Zoom Lebron 5 (V) incorporated a Phyposite support bucket to help alleviate the weight issues that plagued the wildly inventive IV in ’07, yet still retain the comfort properties of a primarily Flexiposite upper. Couple that with a full-length Zoom Air unit, and ballplayers had comfort and durability all the way up until season’s end. An Akron, Ohio-inspired outsole (A map of LeBron’s hometown is visible through clear windows) provided awesome lateral dependability on anything from an NBA-maintained court to a dusty gym filled with CYO Bums.
