Marion Franklin Rudy, aka Frank Rudy, will forever be attached to Nike because he is the engineer that created Nike’s Air technology. Nike launched the first shoe with ‘Air’ technology, the Air Tailwind, in 1978. In 1980, the brand was able to patent the technology.
This Nike Air VaporMax 2021 will pay tribute to the late engineer. Dressed in a White, Old Royal, and Yellow Ochre color combination. Utilizing White knitting on the upper while Royal, Yellow, and Red accents run throughout. Next, the shoes have special details, including ‘Air Pressure’ hangtags, EST. 2021 printed on the lateral Air unit, a blueprint on the insoles that shows the technology, and his name printed on the lace tips. Other details include a VaporMax sole and Nike Grind rubber on the outsole.
