As Reebok continues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Reebok Classic Leather, here lies the sneakers’ next collaborator with none other than sneaker enthusiast, renowned writer, and Crooked Tongues contributor, Gary Warnett.
While many value Gary’s opinion on various sneaker makes and models, you should note that Gary Warnett has shared his views on sneakers for well over a decade now. An honor in itself, he wasted no time when approached with the opportunity to create his own Reebok Classic Leather. Unlike other models, Gary decided to go high concept with this project.
Inspired by the “unspoken influencers who helped popularize this shoe” such as criminals and UK pub-goers, this Reebok Classic Leather pays homage to prison inmates and their notorious uniforms. Donning an orange and tan base, this classic shoe incorporates white arrows as well as arrows are noted in history as a signifier of government property and a characteristic of a prison suit used to track prisoners if they escaped. Moreover, this model features soft leathers and canvas materials, a sweatshirt-inspired inner lining, an icy outsole that too displays arrows, plus signature branding and the Union Jack logo as a finishing touch.
Meticulous in appearance, the Gary Warnett x Reebok Classic Leather is truly a one-of-a-kind piece in our opinion. What do you think?
